Colorado Movie Theatre Shooting

Call me weird but every single time I walk into a movie theatre I wonder if it’s going to be the day that some random f@%k is going to shoot out or bomb the place. Call it the post-9/11 syndrome or whatever you may.

I woke up this morning, and as usually tuned in to KTLA 5 for the morning news/weather forecast and lo and behold my fears had become a reality. It was being reported that a random f@%k went on a shooting rampage at a Colorado movie theatre. I had to rush out to work so I didn’t have a chance to hear the full details of the incident.

All I could think, was “this is very very sad, what would prompt a young man to act so crazy! Poor innocent victims.”

CBS News is reporting that “shortly after midnight Friday, a former graduate student wearing a gas mask set off a gas canister and fired into a crowded theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colo., killing 12 people and injuring at least 50 others injured, authorities said. The suspect was taken into custody and identified by federal law enforcement officials as 24-year-old James Holmes.”

Again, this is very sad news, I only hope that safety measures will now be implemented at movie theaters to prevent this horrific incident from happening again. I am thinking airport type scanning devices.

It leaves room to wonder “is it safe to go to the movies this weekend, will there be copycats?”

Let’s all take time out to pray for the victims families and that lost soul, James Holmes.
